Dulcimer/strum-stick style instrument with banjo head. Handmade by Blaine Horlocker of The Smokey Mountain Dulcimer Works in Florida. (Serial number: 2016, Date built: 11/28/07)

From the maker's website:

> The banjo strum stick is built with the same fretboard as the normal strum stick but with a banjo body.

> These instruments play like a Mountain Dulcimer. They use numbers to play songs. You only put your finger on the bottom string and strum all 3, you will have a beautiful sound, none like you ever heard.

I have had this neat little instrument only a few months, bought it as part of a lot. Seems to have been played very little before then and only a little scuffing of the drumhead. Slight natural chipping of the bridge doesn't affect sound. Fretboard straight and sturdy and surprisingly comfortable to hold. Can be played "guitar style" as well as on a lap.

Quite a bit louder than a typical dulcimer/strum stick and super fun to play! Easy to learn. Works with traditional mountain dulcimer tabs or you can use it with strum stick music as well.
