This is a Lovepedal Echophonic Trails edition, which is a modulated analog tape delay. Here's a description:
The new Echophonic from Lovepedal has a tone knob, which some earlier units did not. This one is in lovely condition and comes with the box.
Echophonic is a tape-flavored delay, and the time knob goes from slapback to fairly long (700ms) delay times. The feedback knob will go up to infinite repeats but not to self-oscillations. You can get that freeze-sounding repeat soup that is great for ambient sounds, and you can still alter it by turning the tone (louder or softer) and time (faster or slower) knobs.
The tone knob here gives brighter repeats clockwise of noon (also louder repeats), and darker repeats counterclockwise (also further back in the mix). The mix knob does just what it says, but I like it at 2 o'clock or higher to really hear the repeats, particularly with the tone knob rolled back. There is also built-in modulation, not alterable by knob, and that is more audible and more "wow and flutter" the higher the mix knob is set.
