I am selling my Dupont MDC-100, A 14-fret D-hole Gypsy Jazz guitar from France's premier luthier. It is gig ready with great action, original hard case, k&k sound pure maccaferri pickup (original end pen included in the case),
At 12 years old, this guitar is starting to yellow a already. It has been played extensively and well taken care of, and the sound is all the better for it. There is some light pick wear and finish cracks (see pic) but no structural issues. Ebony bridge and fretboard, European spruce top, mahogany back and sides.
The -100 series have the traditional set neck, as opposed to the nomade series which have a bolt on neck. It is the same as the -50 series except the finish is not buffed to a shine, which actually looks better on stage
This guitar has the spot-on gypsy sound. When I purchased this I played a bunch of manouche guitars, including Dell Arte, AJL, and a Halo. To my ears the dupont had as good of tone and action as other guitars that cost twice as much. This is the only guitar that I have ever had that actually projected better with light-gauge strings. Sensitive and responsive, but also plenty of depth when you dig in.
Guitar is also for sale locally. Gigging musicians should include a link to their project(s) when making an offer. Im kind of a sucker for helping out a fellow musician!
I would prefer to ship this out on a monday or tuesday so that it is not sitting on a truck over the weekend but we can discuss.
Potentially open to trades for a vintage or handmade archtop with a charlie christian or p-90 pickup.
Includes original hard case. Please contact me with any questions.
