Teisco model E-120 c.a. 1965
An outstanding example of this cool Teisco model. The body is mahogany finished in a dark brown to amber burst with a classic striped pick guard. It has a few impact dents and light scratches but nothing out of the ordinary for a guitar that is almost 50 years old. The neck is also mahogany with a rosewood fretboard, side bar inlays and 22 frets. The electronics are dead quiet on this instrument so it will make an excellent recording tool. The action is excellent all the way up the neck and the intonation is spot on. The headstock profile is the iconic Teisco “fish hook”. The 4+2 tuners are smooth and tight, only the high E tuner has a little slop but it pulls up and holds pitch just fine. The only issue I see is that the tone control works backwards indicating that someone has wired a lead to the wrong pot lug sometime in the past. The problem is that it sounds so good and is so quiet I don’t want to mess with the wiring. This is a remarkable player for a budget guitar and will bring hours and hours of fun to a new owner. Ships in a hardshell Vox style case.
