Alessandro 1/2 AZZ Head (The Derek Trucks Amp!)

I got this amp directly from George Alessandro in October of 2015. It’s one of a pretty small number of these floating around and I’ve never seen one come up used. This is the exact amp used by Derek Trucks.

This is the 50 watt amp from Alessandro’s top of the line “AZZ” series of amps- his take on blending a Blackface style amp with a Dumble Steel String Singer using the best quality components around. The layout is like a Twin but with a grittier voiced “lead” (normal) channel (think Tweed Twin). Plus more headroom, tighter bass, smoother overdrive, and better EQ over all. You can blend the channels for endless combinations. It has 4 power tube sockets so you can run it at 50 watts with 2 tubes or 90 with 4. The control labeled “Intensity” is actually a presence knob. This amp was built on a chassis with prototype labeling since it was ordered before he went into full production. I also changed 3 knobs but I have the originals.

It’s in a custom ordered solid maple cab with Vox grille- the only one of its kind. It has been used so there are some scratches and scuffs as shown in the pictures but nothing too bad. It has very low hours on the tubes and I just picked it up from Carter Vintage today where they gave it a check up. Everything runs as it should. It comes with the Alessandro power cable and speaker cable ($$$) and a $150 custom Studio Slips cover/case.
