This is a Japanese Nardan electric acoustic Taisho Goto / Taisho Koto / Nagoya Harp. Nardan are still one of the biggest manufacturers of Taisho Gotos and strings/accessories to this day. It has 5 strings, and is supposed to be tuned all to G (all the same tuning to get the volume). This Taisho Goto has a tone/color control, and a volume control. No batteries required. Original soft case included.
Being electric, you can run it through delay, distortion, loopers... Pretty much anything you'd run your guitar through. The psych/shoegaze potential of this thing is absolutely amazing. If you change the tuning you go straight into Sonic Youth territory. To me the Nardan electro-acoustic Taisho Goto sounds better than the Suzuki Taisho Gotos. It's louder and brighter. It copes with distortion/gain better.
If you do a search on youtube using the following: "electric koto taisho goto " you will find some demos of taisho gotos, including some being run through guitar effects, and they sound AMAZING!
The condition of this particular Taisho Goto is very good. I will include a brand new set of strings (they are numbered, so they are easy to change).
