Valco / Montgomery Wards GVC 9085A!
Vintage 1960's Tube Amp! Made In USA!
This is really cool. You are looking at a very rare Vintage 1960's era Valco / Montgomery Ward Model GVC 9085A Tube Amp Head. This 40 Watt all Tube Amp ROCKS! One of the best sounding amps I have ever played through. 2-Channel amp with an unbelievable Reverb & Tremolo Channel. Super long decay Reverb. If you are into the "Dick Dale" Surf Guitar Sound, this is for you.
Tone, Tone, Tone. This Amp delivers all the goods. 40 Watts is plenty of power to gig with. Blues, Rock or Surf this amp will get the job done. Breaks up nicely at 5 better at 7 and sounds great dimed out at 11!
Valco closed their doors in 1968. They were in business from 1940 to 1968. Very ahead of their time. They supplied several manufacturers with both guitar and amplifiers. Their Engineering was really top notch.
I have never seen this model of amp before. What I like about it is it is a "Real" Amp that you can play out with. Not just a recording amp.
Everything functions and works fine. Our Amp Tech gave this a major service. All Original Amp. Gig Ready on Arrival. You will not have to spend any additional monies on this amp.
Point To Point Hand Wiring!
Weight: 31.00 lbs.
Rare and Collectable! Best of Both Worlds. This is an amp you can really use that will continue to appreciate in value over time.
Affordable USA Vintage Tube Amp!
Cosmetics: Good Condition. Keep in mind that this is a 57+ year old vintage amp. The tolex is in good shape. There are some scratches, scuffs and minor tears. Grill cloth is very clean. No rips or tears. The Instrument Control bezel does have some scratches, pitting but all lettering is clear and legible. Overall, good shape. Not abused or beat up in any way. It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
