vintage Leedy & Strupe L&S Snare Drum
5 x 14, 3 ply Mahogany shell, Maple reinforcement rings, tube lugs, Brass & Nickel lugs, slotted rods, clips, 'stick breaker' hoops & round bearing edges.
great for small gigs, tone is fat & punchy.
condition is excellent, but there are some cracks in the covering and it appears to have been re-glued in a couple places at some point
we dont know much about this drum. what we do know is when U.G. Leedy sold Leedy he started the company Leedy & Sons. eventually Leedy and Sons became L&S. the company was sold to a music store owner in the early 40s, so we now that the drum is pre early 1940's.
