Moffa Arch Lorraine Electric Archtop Guitar - MINT - Red Violin Style Finish

Straight from a guitar/amp collection comes this beautiful Moffa Archtop Lorraine Electric, hand-made in Italy by luthier Nico Moffa.  

His waiting list is now so long that he is not currently taking orders for new builds.  

This is one of the few archtops (hand carved top and back - not a semi-hollow) designed from the beginning to be an electric guitar.  It's not an archtop with a pickup added.  It has two hand made pickups.

Moffa guitars were first noticed internationally when jazz guitar genius Kurt Rosenwinkel started to use them.

This Arch Lorraine has never left home, never been gigged.  It is in MINT condition with little playing time on it.  A fresh setup and thorough inspection is currently being performed by a well respected luthier in the Portland area.

Here are the specifications:
Top - red Val di Fiemme (Italian) master grade spruce, hand carved and tuned.

Back and sides - Balkan flamed master grade maple, also hand carved.

Neck - one piece pear wood.

Fingerboard - ebony, 22 frets, 628mm scale length, compound radius.

Tailpiece and thumb rest - handmade ebony, with maple binding.

Pickups - 2 handmade and hand wired hum bucker soapbar.

Hardware - 510 Gotoh machine heads, gold color.

Finish - red violin style glossy finish, hand applied, satin finish on neck, harder last coat on back.

Case - Rockcase hardshell.
