Up for sale, a 1965 Guild T-100 "Slim Jim" archtop electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. 100% original aside from a modern rosewood bridge and one of the last guitars produced at Guild's Hoboken, NJ factory, this T-100 features a full 16" lower bout, arched maple top, and original neck position "Mickey Mouse" single coil pickup. The pickup yields a nice burly sound with a round low end growl, yet rolling back the Volume knob a tad cleans things up beautifully, and the pickup has a notably dry sound akin to an acoustic guitar, with great clarity. It’s a sound that works great for rhythm work and big, powerful lead lines. The instrument has a pleasing acoustic tone too, and the power and depth of the unplugged signal belies the slender depth of the body. The guitar is also featherweight at only 5lbs 8oz! We've had this guitar professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, optimal action, and accurate intonation.

The mahogany neck has a fairly slim C shaped profile with a bit more shoulder and depth up the fretboard but still on the slender side of things in all registers. The profile measures .860" deep at the 1st fret and fills out to .917" at 10th where the profile begins to transition into the heel. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard retains the original frets which have been leveled in the guitar’s lifetime, currently showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly in all positions with notes that ring out with no buzzing or dead spots. The scale length is a full 24 3/4" and the bone nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The open book headstock retains the original open back strip tuners which still turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The "Guild" inlaid logo is also in excellent shape.

The electronics work as they should, with Volume and Tone knobs that retain their original DeArmond knobs and chrome "G" caps. The stock stair stepped pickguard and chrome harp tailpiece are also intact and in great shape. Visible through the bass side F hole, the original paper label is near mint with handwritten model and serial number info, noting manufacture at Guild's Hoboken, NJ factory.

The Sunburst finish is extremely vibrant with a warm amber center transitioning to deep burgundy edges, and the nitro lacquer is 100% original with no touchup or overspray. There's light quilt figuring in the maple on the back, and a bit of finish chipping on the back edges of the body. Additionally there are a couple spots of missing finish on the upper edge of the headstock. The guitar is crack-free and the top and back have a smooth, consistent arch.

The original black chipboard case is included.
