Up for Sale is a 1978 Crate CR-1 Combo Amp!
Original Wooden Crate First Year Production!

This is really cool. You are looking at a 1978 Crate CR-1 1x12 Combo Amp. This was the very first model of Crate Amps ever produced. Note: The wooden cabinet that in turn is a "Crate" thus naming these amps built by SLM of St. Louis, Mo. USA "Crate" Legend has it is that the owner of SLM Music was shopping in a Crate & Barrel store and noticed that there shelving all resembled Crates. He decided to start production of guitar amps and housing them in wooden boxes resembling wooden shipping Crates. This lasted for approximately 2 years before they opted for conventional Tolex cabinets.
This is a decent sounding solid state amp. The 12" Speaker really does sound good. 20 solid state watts into a 12" speaker. Features Gain, Treble, Bass, Master Volume, 2 inputs, Line out on rear. A very cool practice or recording amp.
Very Rare and Collectable Vintage USA Amplifier!

Our Amp Tech went through this amp and gave it a major service. Gig Ready on Arrival!

    Serial Number: #007663

Cosmetics: Good Condition. Keep in mind that this is a 38 year old vintage amp. There are some scuffs, scratches, chips, dings and dents in the wooden cabinet. The grill is made out of plastic. Some stains but no tears in the grill. Not abused or beat up in any way. It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
