I am listing this guitar for a friend of mine . The following is the information he provided concerning the guitar. He is not the original owner but has owned the guitar for many years. " I bought this guitar in the early 1970's. It has three pickups , I had the pickups which were in it when I got it, I think they were DeArmond pickups, removed and had three humbuckers installed. One of the pickups is not working now, probably just a loose wire. but using the tone controls you can still get whatever tone you want. It has a good neck and is easy to note. It has the good classic big fat sound of the Gibson hollowbody guitars! This awesome vintage Gibson, plays good, sounds good and looks good." This is a great chance to own a piece of Gibson Guitar history!
Serial number is A-5166. The guitar shows normal wear for its age and has the normal finish checking for a vintage Gibson. There is a short piece of binding missing on the neck as shown in the picture. Original Lifton case included. Be sure to "read more"
" I was told by the guy I got it from that it did not come out as an electric guitar. A guy at Gibson in Nashville (before the flood) said the guitar could very well have been modified by Gibson to be an electric guitar before being sold."
