Bone stock-looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line from the Moog muSonics factory floor in 1972. Serial #1272.

Making this unit even more rare, it is personally assembled (the boards, on 1/11/72 and the final assembly, on 1/24/72) by Robert Moog himself, who signed off on it (see "R M" in the last pic). This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime find. Incredible--and one of only 150 or so of these muSonics minimoogs left on the planet--some say rarer even than the R M Moog version.  This one in museum condition has got to be one of the best examples left.

This is the one that you've been waiting for. Collector/museum curator alert!!!

This muSonics D needed very little, as it was in wonderful condition when we acquired it. In order to increase tuning stability, we replaced the tuning potentiometers with high-precision Bournes potentiometers. Original tuning potentiometers will be included, maintaining this specimen in all original and period-correct collector-grade condition.  Happy to provide all documentation along with the sale of this rare & amazing Moog muSonics MiniMoog Model D.

"The minimoog MODEL D OPERATIONS MANUAL", "MOOG CATALOG '71" and original protective cover are included in the sale.

Why buy from us? We have over 25 years' experience in restoring vintage synthesizers, and are highly regarded by our clients as being restoration perfectionists.

The following has been excerpted and paraphrased from "The Lords of the Mini":

Minimoog muSonic Model D (1971). R.A. Moog, Inc. became muSonics, Inc. when R.A. was forced to merge with muSonics. Electronic circuits are the same as the R.A. models, and some say that the muSonics MiniMoog is the rarest of them all--even rarer than the R.A. Moog MiniMoog. Name plate is muSonics, metal panel, transparent modulation wheels.
