y Awesome sounds out of this thing. I got it for recording but it can get very Loud. Nice distortion channel and with the "Shape" function, you can get any sound possible! Reliability/Durability I bought it used and it's lasted 8 years with just very little tares on the tolex. Electronically, it's in perfect shape. If it lasted this long, it will probably last forever. A good testament to Crate for designing something that'll last. Price/Value General Comments I've been playing for over 30 years and own more than 20 guitars and now I own 4 guitar amps. This one is a keeper along with my Marshall and Fender! From the older reviews, I gathered these amps originally sold for about $400. If you find one used for $150, that's a great deal. A great sounding amp with enough power to blow your ears off. It's nice to have a Clean channel that can get full and loud before breaking up. Nice warmess and also the sparkling in between single coil tones will come through this amp. Distortion wise, it's got great tones and incredible sustain with the Shape feature. Dear potential buyer I agree with this reviewer this is one awesome little lead amp and far powerful than the dual 12 " combo cousins . The single 15" has less breakup than the previously mentioned. The only con I see is that the grill is toast but some say nah it shows character road worthiness which I tend to agree with that aspect. However if this bothers you we can rectify that by one of two different ways. I can either sell you new grill cloth material made for an amp that's black and sparkly for $20.00 extra or I can install it for you for $ 40.00 extra the choice is yours. You won't be sorry. You won't be I shoulda , coulda, woulda....I can negotiate on shipping depending on where you live .The amp would be more expensive if not for the torn grill material.
