This is not your typical Martin guitar. This is not even your typical Martin Custom Shop guitar. This is a one-of-a-kind art piece built by Martin and inlaid by Harvey Leach (be sure to check out the the other Harvey Leach guitar I have listed for sale).
This gorgeous Dreadnought guitar features solid Sitka spruce top that is hand-joined to investment quality Brazilian Rosewood Back and sides. These tonewoods represent the optimal selection for tonal quality and beautiful aesthetics together in a one-of-a-kind, hand crafted instrument. This guitar has it all: excellence in guitar craftsmanship and the beauty of the inlays – which are a fine work of art.
The Melissa Vine inlay art was originally developed by Harvey Leach for one of his customers and named for his wife “Melissa.” The inlay art has been expanded to include complimentary head stock and body details. Harvey Leach was listed by Premier Guitar magazine as one of the top five inlay artists in the world. The details of this instrument art is stunning. This is the second guitar that Martin and Harvey have collaborated on.
The guitar has been meticulously cared for in a humidified room and includes the OHSC.
A note about the history of Harvey Leach’s work with Martin Guitars:
“Harvey Leach has worked on a few remarkable inlay projects with us at Martin. They bear descriptive names like “The Medeival,” “The Custom Cowboy,” “The Hot Rod,” and of course the amazing “Da Vinci Unplugged” Martin’s milestone Serial #1,500,000 guitar (insured for $2 million). Harvey’s amazing inlay color pallet combines with unique and occasionally translucent inlay techniques to advance the art of inlay into new and uncharted territories – a great and inspiring artist!”
