About This Listing

2010 Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster w/ Padded Gig Bag. Made in Mexico

Serial Number: MX10257827.

For your consideration, a 2010 Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster w/ Padded Gig Bag.

The guitar is an outwardly beautiful instrument but it had some playbility issues with the bridge: the two, string-height adjustment Allen screws were missing on the low E-string saddle; and the tension spring on the B-string saddle was also missing. The guitar would play but it would not intonate properly and the height on the low E-string could not be adjusted. Needless to say, playing it felt like crap and it sounded worse when playing in the upper registers!

Problem solved! I bought a new bridge for it! The old bridge and rocking posts are included in the gig bag, so you will have extra parts should something break on the bridge, which it shouldn’t because it’s a brand-new Fender Adusto-Matic bridge in front of the American-vintage Jazzmaster floating tremolo. Whammy bar included.

The guitar has an alder body, maple neck with a 9.5"-radius, a rosewood fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and chrome hardware.

The guitar is powered by a Hot Vintage, Alnico, Duncan-designed Humbucker in the bridge position and a Seymore Duncan-designed single coil pickup in the neck position.

With the Jazzmaster being famous for their wonderful tone, I plugged it straight into my 100-Watt Marshall half-stack and my ’65 reissue Fender Deluxe Reverb amps and it sounds great when played clean and has some punch and great tone to it when the tubes in the amp are pushed.

The maple neck has only one small ding on it and has minimal fret wear. Anyway…now the guitar is in great shape and is a really great-looking (if you like black guitars), a great sounding, and a great playing guitar. You will not regret owning this guitar.
