Early 2000's Epiphone Elitist Thunderbird bass. Crafted in Japan at the old Orville/Gibson factory. Mahogany body, mahogany set neck, rosewood fretboard, bone nut, Gibson USA TB Plus humbucker pickups with chrome covers, three point chrome bridge, vintage style chrome tuners, large headstock just like the vintage Gibsons, Thunderbird chrome strap buttons. The Elitist Thunderbird is basically identical to the Orville by Gibson model, as well as the 1976 bicentennial Thunderbird. I added chrome pickup rings by Proline to give it a more authentic vintage look. The original black plastic rings are included. Extra Gibson truss rod cover included, if for whatever reason you want to put it on instead (this came with the bass when I bought it). There is a strap button added at the heel of the neck, which helps with neck dive. Includes a super cool set of chrome Thunderbird strap buttons. Super fast, thin neck just like the originals. Freshly setup by a professional with DR Hi Beam strings. This bass is a player, not a museum piece. Any dings, scratches or battle scars are pictured. I thought this bass had been repaired at some point where the headstock meets the neck. Turns out this was just excess glue that had come out from behind the nut. I cleaned it up and, lo and behold, no breaks anywhere. I added some new pics to show this. This is a really incredible bass that lives up to its name. Pure thunder. I've toured and recorded with it for years. Just time to pass it on to the next person, as I am eyeing another piece of gear and need to fund that. Original heavy duty Epiphone Elitist hardshell case with purple plush interior included.
