For
sale is a rare made in Japan Conrad Bison, semi-hollow electric guitar, that
was obviously inspired by Gibson’s Johnny A. model. Built in the late1960s, this
is a fantastic lawsuit era example of the golden years of American, Japanese
luthior craftsmanship. This spectacular beauty was built at the world renowned
Matsumoku factory in Japan, that also built a slew of other famous makes such
as, Univox, Aria, Ibanez, Epiphone, Maxitone, Bruno, Electra, Greco, Ventura,
Sekova, Encore, Telestar, and quite a few high end Teisco's.
Based
on my research, everything on it is original, except for the pickguard…Including
the electronics and its sweet vintage P-90 pickups that work and sound great…&
a very cool classic Gibson fashioned trapeze tailpiece. It also comes with a custom-made
nickel silver pickguard, as seen in the pictures. Not only is it beautiful, it
also sings a sweet tune both acoustically as well as plugged in.
This
deal is a take it as-is deal. The pickup selector switch plastic tip is
missing, as well as the (original) plastic pickguard. In addition, there was
about a ½ inch of plastic binding on the upper right corner of the headstock, that
was missing when I purchased it, and was professionally repaired by an expert
luthior. That being said, if minor cosmetic irregularities are not an issue to
you, you’re playin a very fun guitar.
Thanks.
Thanks.
