Hi everyone,
You are looking at my custom refinished Fender Jazz Bass 1975 Reissue made in Japan in 1990. This bass was originally sold here on Reverb and was refinished by the Guitar Restaurant in Toruń, Poland. I've included the original photos here in the ad along with a few I took myself at home with my phone. I've tried many times to be a J bass guy but I always go back to my Precision so I would rather have someone playing this. The original photos show a tweed case but the bass will ship with a flight case style Gator case instead.
Both the body and neck have been fully refinished and it looks and plays awesome. The neck has some serious flame to it and the bass weighs in at just over 10 lbs. When the neck was refinished the serial number was removed so I'm taking the word of the original seller that it was a 1990 model. Based upon the neck stamp and the lack of stamps in the neck cavity, this looks like one of the models that was built by Tokai when they were contracted with Fender Japan as a supplier.
Search for Reverb item #14904155 to see the original listing.
From the original listing:
The original polyurethane paint was mechanically removed, then we repainted the body with a hard sealer and a thin layer of "Amparo Blue Metallic" nitro lacquer. Our sealer is very hard and nitro paint is much thinner than the original polyurethane. In short, we're recreating the guitar painting process from 1970s. The instrument is much more vivid!
Whole paint is covered with a characteristic nitro crackles, cracks and dents and the hardware has a nice patina on it.
Technically everything works as it should, we did a full guitar service:
- frets leveling, crowning and polishing
- nut adjustment
- electronics copper shielding
- new jack socket
- cleaning and maintenance of electronics
- cleaning and maintenance of fingerboard
- new Dean Markley strings (currently has GHS strings)
- soft and comfortable setup
If you have any questions, please let me know - thanks for looking!
