Greetings
Here is an OLP Music Man bass made in China.  For those who don't know, OLP stands for Officially Licensed Product.  In other words Ernie Ball gave permission to the manufacturing company in China to make these basses.

This particular bass is used and it shows.  I tried to get the little dings to show on camera, but none of them effect tone or play-ability.  Speaking of tone, this bass rocks!  Here are the specs:
  • OLP bass - basswood body, maple neck
  • Seymour Duncan alnico MM pickup
  • Audere 2-band classic EQ (V-tone-stacked B/T)
  • Gotoh double battery box (preamp running at 18v)
  • New Hipshot black MM tuners
  • New nut
  • Full electrostatic shielding
  • Full setup and intonation
  • GHS Pressure Wound strings (45-105)
When I got this bass, it had some issues.  It started out life as a passive bass, but the tone was flat and muddy.  The tuners were shot so I replaced them with Hipshot.  I chose to upgrade to an active system, thus the new pickup and preamp.

If you check online you can find these OLP MM basses in stock condition starting at around $200 on up.  This one has the upgrades you'd want to have for just a little bit more.  The weight on this bass is good at 8 pounds 13 oz.  The frets are in great shape and the neck is stable.  The truss rod turns as well, but is stiff.  I adjusted it by removing the neck and using the Allen Wrench fitting at the end of the adjustment wheel.

The new nut is from Graph Tech and is Jazz Bass size.  If you look at the picture you will see that the nut is very slightly smaller than the original one.  That original nut was a total piece of junk.  This jazz bass width (1.5") makes the bass play REALLY nice.

About the tone.  Fat, clear, and punchy like a Music Man bass should sound.  It is one of the better sounding import re-do's I have done.  The only reason to part with it is I play mostly passive basses these days, and plan on sticking with it.

The sell price on this one is about what I have into it in upgrade parts alone.  Yeah - I'm losing $$ on it, so get this one while you can.

I ship everything FedEx and the bass will be boxed up with plenty of protection.  I also accept PayPal only.  I ship everything out within 24 hours of payment, unless it is late Saturday.  Then it goes out on Monday.

If you are looking for a Music Man type of bass, but don't want to spend a lot of bucks - look no further.  This is your bass!
