The belts, idler tires, and pinch roller have been replaced and everything operates as expected with these machines. I am not the original owner, but I have kept it in a smoke-free home while it has been in my possession. That being stated, this is being sold as-is, so please feel free to reach out with any questions.
As the photos show, this machine is in great cosmetic condition and is only missing the cap to channel 4's volume knob. These can be found around the internet if you wish to replace it.

The TASCAM 234 Syncaset was the first 4-track rack-mountable cassette recorder/reproducer with dbx and 3 3/4 IPS tape speed.
The 234 is a front-loading, rack-mountable cassette deck. It has VUs for each track, 1/4" ins, RCA outs, Dolby II NR, recording speed of 3 3/4 ips (double that of most cassette decks) and is variable +/- 12%. Additionally, each track features its own input, output and pan controls.
