A few too many guitars, two daughters, and no time to play anymore! I was original looking for a George Harrison model, but I came across this several years ago and thought it was much nicer. Can supply additional pictures if there's something you want to see up close. Official Gretsch description below, but please note the following alterations from stock:
- The bridge and saddle have been replaced with what appears to be a Compton bridge. Not sure precisely which one or what material, as it was already one when I bought it. The stock Synchrosonic bridge is included, though.
- The stationary Bigsby arm has been replaced with a narrow vintage-style model that turns, with a slightly taller spring.- Tailpiece has the Vibramate string spoiler, makes it a lot easier to change strings with the Bigsby.
- Current strings are the Gabriel Tenorio Super 10's with the extra long twists for the tremolo. I think it'd step the gauge up a little if I were keeping the guitar, but these strings are magnificent, last a lot longer, and the tuning stability with the Bigsby seems much better than usual.
- Original hard shell case included.
CONDITION: This is a nitro finish guitar, so it does weather and scratch more. I've attached pictures of the finish imperfections, which are mostly on the sides, plus a ding in the back of the headstock.
