On our mothership shop -- Automatic Jack -- we have loved, and sold, quite a number of Kapa models, so we know a good one when we play it.  This Continental comes is a gorgeous red that has just the right level of patina and finish checking to give it mojo-to-gogo.

But check out the demo video to hear how awesome this red devil sounds and plays.  Those Hofner staple pickups are just out of this world. Missing one knob (we are hunting for a period correct replacement) and one booboo on the back, but otherwise in wonderful vintage condition.

So this one has a special new life as an FM Restorations listing, because 50% of the net proceeds of this sale will go to a Kiva.org loan dedicated to the buyer.

Look for our pages on Kiva and Facebook for the posts and links celebrating supporters of this social enterprise -- like the pioneering player who made the very first acquisition on the FM Restorations shop:

So if you have a guitar or item that you would like to donate for us to offer here and benefit Kiva, please send us a message. The lower the cost for us to offer it,  the greater the amount we can in turn donate. We will cover shipping up to $25 for a donated item and we would even consider purchasing something you might be willing to part with for less than full market value, to leave enough room to make a decent donation.

The shop description has the full story on FM Restorations, but our shorthand for this model is: Donate. Renovate. Innovate.

The promise we aim to deliver on is reflected in the tagline behind the FM moniker: High Fidelity Restorations. One of the things we love most about what we've done on Reverb over the last three years is finding and refining gear that deserves to get back into circulation. Or that is great quality even it if it is a no-name, mixed breed orphan.

We landed on "FM" as our brand for these special instruments, first, because it is reflects our two last name initials, Fransson and Mason, and stakes our personal reputations to it. We also appreciated how FM also connotes rich, clear high-fidelity sound.
