Der EMG 85 ist etwas ausgeklügelter als sein berühmter
Bruder, der EMG 81. Mit seinen Alnico V Magneten klingt er
sehr muskulös, abgerundet und liefert etwas feinere Lead Sounds.
Er ist somit vielseitiger und deckt alles von Blues bis
extremem Metal ab.
Obwohl er oft am Hals eingesetzt wird, sollte man sich nicht
täuschen. Er ist ein fantastischer Brückentonabnehmer und
verträgt sich praktisch mit jedem anderen EMG Humbucker.
