Fender Jeff Beck Stratocaster with Lace Sensor Pickups

Here is a Fender Strat build I did that merges the two versions of the Jeff Beck model.

I’ve had some inquiries for an early version JB with a thinner profile neck.

This Strat is built around a 1991 Fender Vintage White JB body matched with a 2001 Fender JB neck.

While the neck is thinner, it does have some deeper shoulders to it which feels a little fuller & very comfortable (compared to a Fender “Modern C” profile).

Where this Strat really shines is the custom built loaded pickguard.

It takes the original setup to the next level and features 4 Lace-Sensor pickups in a HSS configuration with a slanted humbucker.

The pickup arrangement:

Neck: Lace Emerald – An excellent neck pup to get that “flutey” tone especially around the 12th fret. (5.7k)

Middle: Lace Gold – the Lace standard for that traditional Strat tone. (5.8k)

Bridge: Lace Purple/Blue – this combination provides a mix of P90 and slightly darker bluesy bridge tones with an increased output (10k/12k)…very JB!

Additional features include a 3-way mini switch that splits the HB allowing selection of either pup or combining both.

The lower tone pot can be pulled up to employ 7-way switching allowing the neck pup to be added to the bridge or all pups on (#2 switch position).

Multiple tones & variations are possible with this setup and is great for recording as Lace pups are noiseless.

Overall condition of this Strat is excellent. Only very light dings/scratches are present.

Back of neck is super clean and ding free. Neck has a nice dark rosewood fretboard and the frets only show light wear.

The neck also features an LSR nut & Schaller locking tuners.

Tremolo is a Fender 2-point American Standard set floating (as any JB style Strat should)

This guitar is set up & ready to play, has a nice acoustic resonance & excellent tuning stability.

All components operate properly & cleanly.

Guitar will be shipped in a Fender soft case.
