Here it is, a 1979 Tokai Les Paul Reborn LS-80 Goldtop with the original hardshell case and original parts. It has been beautifully upgraded with vintage correct wiring, CTS pots, Kluson single line single ring tuners, new Tokai MK2 pickups and PIO caps. All the original parts are included as you can see in the pictures.
The new pickups and tuners have been appropriately aged to match the rest of the guitar. The original tuners still work perfectly and the original pickups also still work just fine. The new Tokai MK2 pickups are a little hotter than the original Gotoh pickups so you can choose which ones you want use. I replaced the broken plastic input jack plate with a metal one.
The neck has a perfect 50's shape and size, the nut is a hair over 43mm and the thickness at the first fret is 22.8mm and at the 12th fret is 24.2mm. Fret edge binding of course with frets that have some wear to them, still work just fine.
Of course this has all the premium features - lightweight aluminum tailpiece, brass saddles, lacquer finish, possibly a Brazilian board, one piece mahogany back, one piece mahogany neck, 18 degree headstock angle, fret edge binding and my scale weighs her at about 9.25 lbs. There is a bit of cloudiness to the clear coat. She sounds like an absolute beast!
