Kent Polaris II model 545  c.a. 1965
The Polaris series was built by Guyatone and used Guyatone pickups. This example is in Century Red and the finish has stood the test of time well with some finish crazing. There are scattered dings on the body that are visible in the pictures. The neck has a rosewood fretboard and the “steel T bar neck rod” that Kent installed instead of a truss rod. The neck is straight and it plays well. The open back tuners with plastic buttons have a little play when turning back and forth but hold tune well when pulled up to pitch. The electronics are strong , quiet and grounded at the tailpiece. Tonally, these pickups are killer and are the major appeal of this guitar. Comes with the original chipboard case.
