Ibanez 529 Mandolin - Antique violin brown finish

This vintage instrument was built in 1982.

This gorgeous mandolin features a modified F-style body. The scroll is not really a carved scroll, but a hollow scroll “knob.”

Antique violin brown finish. A very rich, lush color with a lot of depth and visible wood grain. Truly beautiful.

Gibson-style “snake head” headstock.

Original tuners and frets.

Ornate, charming fretboard inlays.

Built at the famous Fujigen factory in Matsumoto, Japan. Interior label signed by Mr. Kosakabe of Ibanez.

Instrument ships with a hardshell case that is missing its handle. The latches still work fine.

MOP headstock inlay with 'Ibanez'.  Bound neck and headstock.

Minor dings on body. See photos. Overall, it has a beautiful vintage appearance. It is completely sound and crack-free. Plays great.

Sale includes a leather mandolin strap.

This is NOT one of the low-cost cheaply-made mandolins that Ibanez sells these days. This is old-school, vintage stuff from a great era in Japanese lutherie.  Even Bill Monroe played an Ibanez mandolin for years!

Buyer to pay $90 shipping in the continental US.

Pay Pal only, please.  Must ship to a confirmed Pay Pal address.
