The Ashbory delivers an incredible acoustic bass-like sound. For a small and light instrument, the low end is incredible. I played it for years with the original silicone strings and then recently changed to the Aquila Thundergut strings which aren't sticky at all (and therefore don't require talcum powder).
This is a great grab and go jam instrument. It's fretless but frets are marked so pretty easy to play and sound like you brought a giant standup bass.
Comes with gig bag, which I kept it in and so doesn't have dings or scratches. So the black finish looks great and is apparently now hard to find.
I'm pretty much a guitar player, but always got a great response when I played this instrument.
