About This Listing

Collector owned, as-new and unplayed in original case - all original case candy and swing tags attached.

1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop

Flash back to 1957… Gibson launched their now legendary Seth Lover designed PAF pickup with the 1957 Les Paul Goldtop. This was the first guitar to feature this amazing new technology…the Humbucking Pickup. This pickup is considered by many to be the holy grail of electric guitar tone and has been copied by every major pickup manufacturer on the planet. The Gibson 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop features two extremely close replications of the original PAF pickups in the form of two Burstbucker humbuckers.

Hand Aged by Tom Murphy

Tom Murphy is the authority on aging of guitars, using extremely precise and secretive techniques to age a guitar just as it would be through years of gentle playing. While this will give a guitar a great look, it can also open up the sound through gentle wear of the nitrocellulose gloss finish. This is a contributing factor to the legendary sound of vintage guitars and is the main reason why they are so desirable.

The biggest partnership in rock history

Marshall and Gibson have teamed up to offer this amazing piece of rock music history. Extremely collectable and undeniably playable, the Gibson 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop will go down in history as a landmark instrument only available in extremely limited quantities, with only 50 being made worldwide.
