Up for sale, a 2000 Fender "90s" Telecaster Thinline in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A particularly rare double bound variant on the classic Thinline design, this USA-made Fender features a semihollow ash body, stock single coil pickups, and a maple neck with medium jumbo frets and a modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius. The guitar has a very rich and balanced acoustic tone, taking full advantage of the complex midrange character of ash, the fuller low end provided by the semihollow body, and the glassy attack of the maple fretboard. Chiming, clear, and defined in all three pickup positions, this Tele delivers twang and cut in the bridge position and sweet, singing tones from the neck pickup, thanks to a pair of upgraded Lollar "Vintage T" handwound pickups. The guitar weighs in at 6lbs 8oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Tele has low action, 10-46 strings, and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck has a medium C shaped profile with consistent depth as you travel up the fretboard, moderate shoulder, and a smooth semi-gloss finish. The stock medium jumbo frets retain their full factory height with well rounded crowns and only a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-4, with virtually no wear further up the neck. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and the headstock retains the stock chrome Schaller tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should.
All of the electronics work as they should, with the new Lollar Vintage T pickups wired to the original pots, which feature an Emerson tone cap. The original and unaltered body routes have also been professionally shielded with copper tape for the best possible signal-to-noise ratio. The chrome hardware is notably clean with only a bit of light patina on the bridge base. While the pickguard is the deep red and black "meatball" tortoise commonly used by Fender in the '90s, the top and back body binding are an entirely different material, with a thick transparent brown tort that pairs perfectly with the gloss Olympic White finish. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few scuffs in the strum path and light finish scratches on the back.
A Fender-branded black tolex G&G hardshell case is included, along with the original manual and unopened polish cloth.
