Redesigned for 2014, the new 2nd Generation Antigua Backun clarinet offers professional level performance at a student friendly price. The 2nd Generation model features a more refined bore & improved tone hole undercutting. The end result is an instrument that will really impress even the pickiest of players.

Players can also further improve on the performance with a professional level barrel, such as the Backun MoBa models.

This clarinet starts with premium grade grenadilla wood, properly aged in controlled settings. It is within the the Backun facility in Vancouver, Canada that the wood is turned, bored and machined to exacting tolerances using the most advanced machinery and skilled personnel. These bodies, bells and barrels then undergo careful hand-finishing work and inspection by Backun technicians.

The finished wood bodies then travel to Antigua's state of the art facility where precision manufacturing is used to produce the keys. Skilled artisans hand fit posts, rings, rods, springs and keys to ensure that each instrument performs optimally. Black Valentino pads are used to create a perfect seal.
