This is a very unique, all original and very sweet older (1991) Warwick Dolphin Pro 2. This is sure to make any fellow Warwick enthusiast happy.

The bass has a bolt on maple neck with the older "paddle" head stock shape that accepts a replaceable truss rod which is an amazing insurance policy.  The fingerboard is wenge with the Warwick bell brass frets.

The body is a thin cut of ash and super light weight. Trans-red finish as shown and fitted with Schaller strap locks as was standard for the model. The bass is very well balanced and hangs very nicely when played standing and the neck is super fast in your hands. This bass is very ergonomically friendly!

Electronics are Warwick's proprietary MEC with active two band EQ, volume and tone controls. The pickups are jazz style and placed closer to the bridge providing for nice aggressive tones as well as traditional tones. The bass sounds great and give you a lot of flexibility.

What makes this particular model unique to the Dolphin line is that it was made in Japan. I believe was Warwick's first import model.

In an effort to make a more affordable Dolphin Bass, Warwick developed this model which has more streamlined configuration. They produced about 200-300 of these in Germany and realized that in order to offer it at the lower price point they had in mind it would be best to  move production to Japan, and so they did. The model was made from 1991-1999 and was very successful.

The instrument is in good condition but does have some very honest player wear as shown. There is some light buckle scratching on the back and some small dings, all pictured here. I started to wipe the bass down with Naphtha tonight and was able to rub away some of the scuffing you see in these pics. In my experience the black stuff comes off with naphtha and lots of patience.

I have embedded a great demo video by Warwick endorser Andy Irvine. This is a fun video and provides for a great demonstration of all the tones that this bass produces. Again, this bass sounds terrific and gives you a lot of tonal flexibility.  So please watch, listen and enjoy!

I will ship this bass in a gig bag and I pack like a pro.  If you have any questions at all, ask away as I love to talk shop with other bass enthusiasts.

Oh, and the photo with of my thumb is to show the year but not the whole serial number :)

Thanks for looking!
