Nearly impossible to find and currently the only Lyon & Healy bowl back mandolin for sale online.  This is a beautiful example of the superb craftsmanship that has kept Lyon & Healys legendary status alive for well over a century.  This nearly 130 year old mandolin was originally constructed to last a lifetime and has now well exceeded that.  It is completely structurally sound the neck is straight and neck joint is solid.   All parts are original.  Aside from a repaired seam between to slats of the bowl there are no visible repairs.    This mandolin has just been professionally setup,  lightly cleaned and restrung with extra light strings.    
There is plenty of honest playing wear, but no negligent damage.   Please observe the pictures for an complete aesthetic description.  The mandolin  plays very nicely with standard action, no buzzing or dead spots and there is plenty of room for future adjustment if needed.  The tuners function and hold a tune, but please be aware they are older then any functional set of tuners have a right to be.   As such there are tight spots and some wiggle in the tuners.  

Made from some of the most incredible tone woods, the combination of Brazilian rosewood, Honduran Mahogany and tight grained sitka spruce give this mandolin all the right ingredients for incredible tone.  130 years of playing have given this instrument the time to develop a voice that has no parallel in a modern instrument.   Deep booming lows and crisp high end with a nicely balanced mid range, this mandolin is worthy of being played and heard.
