(Serial No. 193089) Excellent condition. It is uncommon to find a D21 for sale. The 21 series Martins were intended as the line between the 18 and the 28 series, but they were produced in much more limited numbers than either the D18 or the D28. They have Brazilian rosewood back and sides like the 28 series and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge and the simpler binding of the 18 series. Has nicely figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka top. Standard 1-11/16 nut width. Finish and single line Kluson tuners are original. Luthier Richie Dotson of Acoustic Box LLC in Chesterfield VA reset the neck and set the guitar up. It now plays like silk with a nice low action, and the voice is that huge Martin Brazilan rosewood sound you are looking for in a good bluegrass guitar. Has some hairline finish cracks in the top that do not go through the wood. They are too small and tight to photograph. Very strong sound. This is definately a festival warrior that hunts down banjos and fiddles for breakfest. You can get all the sound of a older Martin dreadnought, the collectability of a Brazilian rosewood guitar, and have an instrument that's just a little bit different than all the others. Comes with a period hardshell case. US shipment only.
