This Seagull Artist is an absolute gem, handmade in the town of La Patrie, Canada. It is made with fine North American tone woods and features all-solid construction with a spruce top, flamed maple back/sides, and a mahogany neck. It has solid rosewood bridge and fingerboard with a Tusq saddle and nut. This guitar is one of a kind. The higher tones chime with a brilliant roundness and warmth. The low end notes are distinct - not muddy - and have a richness that compliment the higher tones very nicely. The midrange bridges between, seamlessly connecting the high and low ranges. The overtones and harmonics are marvelous and the tones are in tune all up and down the neck, as Seagull do a wonderful job of scaling their instruments. It sounds like a full-bodied modern guitar that has the wonderful woodiness of a well-aged guitar without the bruises and bumps. There are hardly any scratches and no noticeable dings, but it has a little bit of pick-rash around the edge of the pick guard - nothing deep enough to gouge the finish. It is a great player with low action, making for easy playability up and down the neck. It is equipped with L.R. Baggs' iBeam Duet system. This is an awesome piece of technology that combines both an under-saddle pickup (Element) and bridge transducer pickup (iBeam) with L.R. Baggs' stereo preamp.
This Seagull sounds awesome unplugged and through the system and it is in great shape.
