Gibson Roy Smeck Radio Grande acoustic guitar from the Custom Shop in Montana
Limited to only 30 instruments worldwide, and this is the only one available in Europe.
Absolutely incredible tone and depth, very responsive top, great for finger style and flatpicking alike. The 12fret free of the body configuration places the bridge further away from the sound hole, achieving the tonally ideal position (as opposed to a 14fret guitar), resulting in deeper tone and quicker response.
No comparison to the 1994 reissue in tone and authenticity!
Near mint condition, strap button added and once had a PU (now removed).
Non-orig. tweed hard case, comes with showy framed Gibson certificate of origin.
The Roy Smeck Radio Grande is considered a sacred model among Gibson experts and aficionados. This power-house model first appeared in the mid-1930s. These newly enhanced Limited Edition models, produced in 2016, feature a MOP Roy Smeck Radio Grande headstock inlay, a 1.805’’ nut width, Thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce top, and traditional Nick Lucas fretboard markers, making these “grand-piano-sounding acoustics a joy for a player who may also be a vintage collector. Ships with a Certificate of Authenticity. Other features include:
