About This Listing

Here we have one of two really nice Estate Sale finds (see our other listing for an equally cool vintage Japan Jazz Bass). This is a Fujigen (Ibanez, Greco, etc.) model 2375 Vintage Stratocaster copy . Since I'm not a guitar player I had to do a bit of research on this one:

All model 2375 strats were manufactured by the famous Fujigen factory in Japan, who would then brand them for various distributors including Ibanez and Greco, and music store "house" brands (Fujigen was also the factory that won the first Fender Joint Venture contract for producing the early and much sought after original MIJ Squiers).

This 2375 strat comes in it's original case with the name of the store where it was sold on a plate inside (the famous Hewitt's Music of Dearborn Michigan) and is branded as Crestwood- a musical instrument distributor originally of Detroit and later of Madison Heights, Michigan.  The
circa 1960s and 1970s Crestwood guitars were identical to those branded as Ibanez, Aria Pro
II, Electra and others, and not to be confused with the current Crestwood brand.

Pre- serial number, only "Made In Japan" stamped on the neck plate dates this one as
1975, as well as the 3-way pickup selector switch (which also dates it as prior to late- 1975).
It looks to be in unaltered original condition with minimal play wear. It had been in its case in a closet a long time- I replaced the rusty old strings, but other than that I didn't do anything- it could probably use a new nut and set up to your individual taste. Neck is maple as well as the fretboard, profile feels like a 60's strat. From everything I've read, the model 2375 is a fine,
light, fast playing strat from Japan's golden age.
