Up for sale is my Vintage Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ DRX Widebody Amp Head with Simulclass, Reverb and export power transformer, the Boogie factory also called it the "All World Transformer".

The faceplate has 60/100 watt switch, but it's definitely a Simulclass amp.  It's pretty well known that Boogie was sometimes kind of cheap about faceplates and would use ones that weren't exactly accurate.  The 60/100 switch really functions as a Class A/ Simulclass switch.

This is a rare amp because of the X101 export power transformer. Very hard to find these. It's in excellent shape because the previous owner had a road case for it. Tolex has some scuffs, but its generally in really good shape.

No EQ on this one, but if you add on a Mesa EQ pedal in the effects loop you will have the ultimate Holy Grail Mesa amp for a lot less money. The IIC+ with Simulclass, reverb, eq and export transformer is considered by many to be the best C+.

It has the RP-11 circuit board.  This amp was tuned up and upgraded to C+ by Mike Bendinelli in 2012. He also replaced the electrolytic capacitors. I'm not sure why some people think that an upgrade isn't as good as an original C+? Even the original C+ was an upgrade and modification of a IIC. They even used the same circuit boards - RP11. In fact at the time they changed the C spec to C+ spec, Boogie sent out a notice to IIC owners that they could send their amp back in and have it upgraded to the + specification. Anyway the upgrade was done by Mr. Bendinelli, so it's an authentic IIC+.

For this sale, the amp has just had Brand New Mesa power tubes installed. It's set up in Simulclass with EL34's in the outer sockets and 6L6's in the inner sockets. The bias has been custom adjusted to have a nice warm setting with the Mesa green color code rated tubes.

Regrettably selling this because I'm retiring from guitar playing.

This is a killer amp!! The other day one of my guitar students and I cranked it up and really played it. Great clean tones and awesome lead tones. Clean tones good as a vintage twin IMO (sacrilege?, but coming from someone who owned a twin for 25 years.) I actually sold my blackface twin when I acquired a couple of these.  You can dial in anything with this amp from jazz clean to edge of distortion to super high gain lead tones. The simulclass really does make it have more character for rock rhythm guitar. I have two C+'s and I'm keeping the one with the nice hardwood cabinet.  It was really hard to choose which one to sell, but I don't need a backup anymore.

An interesting story that can't be proved. This amp was supposedly owned and on the road with Mike Wanchic, the guitarist for John Cougar Mellencamp. The guy I bought it from had the road case that had John Cougar painted on it. He wanted to keep the case so I don't have it. Don't know if its true, but I did see the original roadcase and it is documented that Mike Wanchic used Boogie amps. The export transformer makes this assertion more valid too. (Roadcase not included with this purchase) Maybe Boogie could confirm this?

I will be including a small footswitch that came with the amp. Its nice because it doesn't take up much room on your pedal board.

Please ask questions!! This amp is in great working order but is being sold as is. Fixed shipping to lower 48 states of US only. No international sales! Any international sales will be cancelled

This is what guitarist Steve Kimock said on the gearpage about the IIC+with export transformer ( He worked at boogie back in the day)
"IIC+ was basically the final evolution of the original Boogie the way I saw it go down.

That's as refined and dialed in as that idea got; after that things kinda started over in a bunch of new directions in spite of the basic package being very similar in appearance.

All of the older Boogies could be had with or without the various options, so "perfect storm of features" for a IIC+ would have been considered Simul-Class, Reverb, Graphic EQ and Export Transformer: that was the in-house consensus for pick of the litter.

Some guys preferred hardwood cabs and combos with EV's, some might have leaned toward heads and cabs with Celestion's, but nobody denied that option package was as good as it got.

That amp stands on it's merit.
It was just the best version of all the stuff that came before it, recognizing at the same time there were great individual features from each of the previous amps being incorporated to get to that end result.

Overall, just a great, no ********, no excuses, lead guitar amp with tons of flexibility.

The MKII C+ Simul-class is probably one of the very best lead guitar style amps ever made in any quantity.  Particularly the Simul-class with the export transformer, they're world class lead guitar amps that will hang with anything."
