NYLGUT - Low D tuning (DGBE, bass side to treb side). Strings are plain Nylgut with one aluminum wound and one silver-plated copper wound on nylon strands. Gauges, from treb side to bass side, 1st to 4th, are about 026 032 031w 027w in thousanths of an inch. These strings are made in Italy from a synthetic material called "Nylgut". Nylgut is a new formulation of polymerized plastic with additives patented by Aquila and has the closest sound to gut strings we have heard.
