Up for sale is a very cool Robin Wrangler from 1995. This was actually the very first year for the Wrangler and the serial number shows it to be the 67th guitar built. It is part of the Ranger series, but the Tele bodystyle was called the Wrangler. These are very high-quality handmade guitars built in Houston, TX. Robin is no longer building guitars so they're a bit harder to come by these days.
This guitar is in a beautiful cream finish with highly-figured flame maple neck. It has been slightly customized over the years with a white pearl pickguard and wonderful sounding Kinman pickups. The Wrangler originally came with a Telecaster bridge pickup and Strat neck & middle pickups. The Strat neck pickup has been replaced by a P90. The electronics have also been customized. Instead of just Volume and Tone controls, there is also a control that blends in the P90 with each pickup combination. It lets you have a brighter chicken-pickin' sound or a thicker, prettier tone. Great for distorted tones as well. As you would expect, the Kinman pickups sound great and are very quiet.
The guitar is in really nice condition (remember, it's 21 years old now!). There are 3-4 small impressions in the top with a few more around the sides. There are a couple hairline finish cracks around the neck pocket (very common for Fender-style guitars). There is a small impression in the fingerboard above the 2nd fret. It's so close to the fret that you'd never be able to feel it, even if you were trying to. There is nothing that affects the playability or feel of the guitar. As you can see by the pictures, she's a beauty.
Specs:
The Wrangler was available with a Swamp Ash or Poplar body. Due to the weight and solid color, I'm guessing this guitar has the Poplar body.
Figured Maple neck with Flame Maple fingerboard. 25.5" scale length. 22 frets.
5-way pickup selector switch.
Sperzel locking tuners.
