About This Listing

Built in 1976, serial # 162, this is a great sounding cedar top from one of the pioneers of American luthiery that practically no one has heard of.  He passed away in 1991.

It has a clear, even tone throughout the range, no dead notes.  Basses are clear and strong, mid range and upper registers are clear and bright with excellent separation and sustain.  Strong volume, good projection, recital/concert worthy.   Frets are perfect.  String height at 12th fret is 2.75mm/1st and 3mm/6th.  Playability is excellent.

A center seam crack in the top has been carefully repaired and top refinished in French polish in January, 2019.  Lovely Madrid school mosaic rosette really pops.  Back/sides are in very good condition with only minor wear.  Head stock was repaired by previous owner and the repair is solid and practically invisible.  Overall, guitar is in prime playing condition.

Body depth is 102mm/upper bout, 105mm lower.  This slightly larger body size helps give this guitar its power and warmth.  String length is 650 mm, 53 mm nut.

This is an inviting guitar to play and it'd be hard to beat in this price range.
