Based on the 1962 Country Gentleman as used by George Harrison, the 6122 1962 captures that Fab 4 vibe. This model is from right at the dawn of the Fender era and is sort of a transition from the earlier pre Fender models to the modern reissues we see today. Technically called a Country Classic II 1962, these are great quality. The hollow body is made of laminated maple and is sealed with no F holes for better feedback resistance. The 3 Piece maple neck features a 24.6 inch scale bound ebony fingerboard with delicate thumb print inlays. Dual High Sensitive Filtertron pickups are hooked to the unique Gretsch tone switch for tons of tones. A floating bar bridge offers sustain while the V cut Bigsby vibrato dishes out retro effects. Grover Imperial tuners add a fancy art deco touch. The finish is a deep brown and is set off by multiple bindings and gold hardware. If you want a Gretsch just like George played, this one is dang close!

Like most modern Gretsch guitars, this one feels and sounds great. I ve had a ton of older Gents and have had to contend with the lousy neck sets, bad binding and terrible playability that some 60s Gretsches have. The newer ones are miles and away better in terms of playability and fit and finish. Everything works as it should. The frets show light to moderate wear but play fine. This is a solid used guitar in VG-EX condition. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches as well light to moderate indents and some gold fade. The back pad on this example is pretty worn. Comes in a Gretsch hardshell case with one busted latch.

Gretsch guitars have had a resurgence in popularity in recent years. For good reason. They are well made and capture the look and vibe of the originals without the huge vintage price tag. A new Country Gentleman will cost you $2649 at the online stores. Here s a nice used one for a lot less! BUY IT NOW and own a great Gretsch!
