Update: Two pictures of the back of the neck are posted that show the chips in the paint and the discoloration in the finish. The chips are just the finish - no gouging of the wood. Doesn't affect playing at all. Unless you put your thumb directly behind the third fret, you won't even know they're there. That's the only reason this guitar is listed at the price above, and not in the $1200+ range. So if you appreciate well-used vintage guitars, and aren't fussy, then you could have yourself a bargain.

Vintage! Rare! Blah-blah-blah!
(I know, I know. I hate those kind of listings too, but this guitar is 60+ years old and pretty rare.)
This baby is a player, not a museum piece. But as a player, it's pretty sweet. A deep body and 60 years of aging makes for a nice acoustic tone (wish I could say the same!), and the vintage Gretsch Dynasonic gives it plenty of punch and twang when you plug it in.
It's got some dings and chips and signs of age, but the important parts are good: the neck is straight, the heel is tight, the pickup and electronics are clear, and the binding is in good condition.
The original pickguard is lost to posterity, but I know a guy and can put you in touch with him.
Body:
3 1/4" deep
16" wide across bottom bout
25.5" scale
When I purchased this guitar, it came in a very used case that protected the guitar well, but was just kind of beat up. Also, it has a bright yellow interior. For the price of the guitar, you can choose either the old, yellow case, or the Silver Creek case with green interior that is in the photos. Please indicate which case you want when checking out.
Please ask any questions before purchasing.
