For sale is a MIA Fender Stu Hamm Urge I bass. This is an amazingly versatile bass, and incredibly easy and fun to play. You can really zoom around on this thing! For those that don't know this model:

- 32" scale, 24 frets
- Kubicki electronics
- Super comfortable asymmetrical neck profile
- Pau Ferro board, no markers on the front
- String-through bridge
- P, J, and P+J modes, active or passive.
- Light! Between 8 and 9 lbs is my estimate.

These basses are notoriously difficult to date by serial number - it seems to always come up 1989. They were first sold in 1993 and were discontinued something like 1999, so it could be anywhere in that range.

It appears to be stock with the exception of Dunlop strap-lock buttons and a jack that appears to have been replaced . There is some fret wear in the first position as one would expect with an instrument of this age that has been played. I don't detect issues when playing the bass, and it looks to me like there is plenty of meat left on those frets. The electronics are 100% functional, the only minor issue being a weak detent in the pan pot. I never cared, since I can still feel the detent. This bass has what I believe to be a factory Gotoh D-tuner.

Condition wise, the bass looks great, especially considering its age. there are a handful of minor dings on the top, most of which are not easily seen unless you are looking for them. The body edges and back have fewer even smaller dings. The back of the neck has a couple minor dings on the G string side. I never felt them, and it seems unlikely anyone else would either. The headstock has a few minor bumps around the edges but not bad at all.

Comes with what I believe to be an original HSC. At some point in its previous life, and for reasons one can only imagine, it was deemed necessary to paint the outside of the case white. I think I can also detect a subsequent attempt to remove said paint. So that's the story on the case - original, functional, won't win any beauty contests.
