I've finally made the decision that it's time to move this guitar on. I am the original owner. It is such a great guitar, but I have not been able to get use to the 1 11/16" nut. If it had a 1 3/4" it would be going nowhere.
This one has very few signs of play on it. Absolutely no fret wear. No dings, dents, scratches or cracks. Very minor pick scuffs on the pickguard, and some slight finish checking around the ivroid binding near the bottom strap button. It has always been properly humidified.
This guitar was developed as a copy of Dan's 1946 D-28. The neck was modeled after it, and it has a great modified "modified V" shape to it.
Features include: solid East Indian Rosewood back, sides and headplate with vintage style logo, Adirondack Red Spruce top and 5/16" rear shifted scallopedbracing, Black Ebony fretboard, bridge and pins, grained ivoroid binding, endpiece and heelcap, bold herringbone purfling, HD zig-zag back strip, longpattern Golden Era style diamond & square Abalone fretboard inlays, Nickel Waverly tuners with oval buttons, aging top toner, beveled and polishedtortoise pickguard, bone nut and saddle, 1 11/16" nut width, 25.4" scale length and 2 1/4" saddle spacing. Interior label signed by Dan Tyminski numbered #101.
I bought a Case Notes leather journal for this guitar at the time I bought it. It's a log for the guitar where you can add repair work, and has a history of the owners. I also have the original receipt in the Case Notes also.Martin also made me 2 additional compensated Bone saddles for this guitar. They are different heights. The standard Martin has their factory spec action, another that is slightly higher, and a third that is lower. I had them made so depending on what I was doing I could make quick adjustments.
I also have a custom Elliot ‘McKinley-Elliott’ Capo that I had made for it that is included with the guitar.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
