The Fender International color series was introduced in the late 70's and early 80s as Fender was nearing the end of the CBS era (not a reissue). These USA made guitars were similar to their American Standard counter parts but with a new set of short lived colors like Maui Blue, Taupe and this super cool Moroccan Red.

This example has a 1979 serial number but it was actually made in 1980 which is common in the guitars from this series. It has pickups and pots that all date to 1980. At some point this one was routed for a bridge humbucker and then meticulously put back to stock with the original parts. They even touched up the finish under the guard. And has the CBS area "Micro Neck 3 screw neckplate.

Overall it is really clean, all original guitar and it sounds fantastic. There are a couple small dings on the body and a few slight signs of crazing in the finish. The neck is in equally clean condition and the original frets don't show any wear. This is one of the cleanest Strats from this era I have owned in some time. It includes its original Fender tolex hardshell case which has burgundy plush lining. If your looking for a vintage CBS era Fender Strat you can't go wrong here. I have not seen a nicer one. No disappointments here!

I might consider taking a trade of $600 - $700 against the price of the guitar.
