These Technics have just been fully serviced and calibrated by the highly respected Richard Talmage at Technics Service (service completed on 14/01/2019). They run as good as new!

Servicing includes:
Serial Number: MJ3K01D043 If I'm correct in my interpretation of the serial number, this deck came off the production line in November, 1993. An examination of the shell reveals that its structure is consistent with that date. It was built in Japan and looks to have been the 43rd deck off the production line on that day!
Cosmetics: The pictures show the cosmetic wear and tear - scuffs, some scratches and discolouration in places. The marks seem to be consistent by those formed a protective case... But, the paint job and parts are original and includes all original lettering. Any potential buyer can have all cosmetic damage repaired or order a complete respray with relative ease.
Most importantly however, this SL-1200 now run as good as new and are a joy to use.
Shure M35X Cartridge: Take a read of the cartridge description. I bought it around 20 months ago, but it has seen minimal use and has mostly been stored in the plastic case it arrived in. It is in near perfect condition.
It is a very good cartridge the excels in bass reproduction - great for house and techno, but not limited to those genres.
The cartridge is included in the total - making it an absolutely steal!
The price: The price reflects the cost of servicing and the effort gone into having them restored (the service and trip to Weymouth came at a healthy cost).
I would prefer local pickup as couriers tend not to cover damages on turntables - I could potentially drop them off at a convenient location if petrol was covered.
If you decided to courier (this is no problem), I will pack each thoroughly with foam and bubble wrap and reduce any chance of movement during transit.
Get in touch, and lets see if we can make something work for us both!
