Vintage Lafayette Combo Amplifier

This is a vintage Lafayette combo amplifier manufactured by Univox, serial number 46705. The amp is in really clean condition for it's age and shows only light scuffing and chipping to the tolex covering. The faceplate is clean and bright with no corrosion a nice sheen. The grill cloth is very clean and has great color. This amp has three inputs, guitar, microphone and accessory. Tube lineup is 2x6973 power tubes, 2x12aX7's and a 12AT7. With this setup, the amplifier output is approximately 15-17 watts. Despite the wattage, it's not particularly loud or powerful. It's equipped with a 2x10" speaker configuration arranged in a vertical position. The speaker numbers read 49cz1064, 343532, 226-272, 2c-10125. The amp is also equipped with reverb and tremolo. The trem gets a nice, wobbly and throbbing tone. The reverb is the cardboard box type and is not overly splashy or strong, it adds more of an ambience. The amp has a smooth sheen to the treble notes, the bass is tight and honking. The amp is that wonderful harmonic richness that only vintage amplifiers seem to have.
