Being the largest SGR (Schecter Guitar Research) dealer from the mid to late 1990's, we had dibs on many of their custom one-offs of which a few we 'vaulted', so to speak. Here we are offering one from 1998 for the very first time. Original Masterworks #5, a hand painted work of Toulouse-Lautrec's "At the Moulin Rouge".

Featuring: Custom hand painted graphic on Schecter's CET style double cutaway swamp ash body. Oil rubbed maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and MOP dot inlays. 21 highly dressed and polished medium jumbo frets. (SGR's fretwork is what always put them in a class of their own from other high end handmade instruments).

Rarely seen reversed headstock also hand painted to accent body graphics. Six in line graduated angle Sperzel locking tuners. Chrome hardware including vintage style tremolo bridge and volume knob which push-pulls for pickup selector. One SGR bridge humbucking pickup and one SGR neck single coil pickup.

Comes with original Hard case (plastic still on license plate logo) and warranty card. Has new strings and set up perfectly.

Still in brand new uplayed condition, this is a truly collectible, one of a kind instrument and work of art!

Thanks for looking. Will consider shipping internationally.

Some history of the graphics:

At the Moulin Rouge (: Au Moulin Rouge) is an oil-on-canvas painting by French artist Henri De Toulouse -Lautrec. It was painted between 1892 and 1895. It is one of a number of works by Toulouse-Lautrec depicting the Moulin Rouge cabaret built in Paris in 1889; the others include At the Moulin Rouge, the Dance, and the poster Moulin Rouge: La Goulue

The painting portrays a group of three men and two women sitting around a table. From right to left, the people at the table are:  Edouard Dujardin' dancer La Macarona, photographer Paul Secau, and photographer Maurice Guibert. The woman in the right foreground is English dancer May Milton. In the background, on the right, you can see lLa Goulue with a partner; the left background shows Toulouse-Lautrec himself and Gabriel Tapié de Céleyran.

At the Moulin Rouge is under ownership of the Art institute of Chicago as part of the Helen Birch Bartlett Memorial Collection, where it was first displayed on December 23, 1930. It was exhibited in London in 2011 at the Courtauld institute of Art. It is currently on display in the Art Institute of Chicago as part of the permanent collection.
